Prisma Health Education and Research Institute

Prisma Health Education and Research Institute

The Prisma Health Education and Research Institute (PHERI) drives the academic, research and workforce development initiatives of the integrated health system through partnerships with affiliated universities and degree-granting academic institutions. Together, we address the health concerns, workforce needs, and health care delivery gaps within South Carolina.

Transforming healthcare

What makes us different?

PHERI is different from a traditional academic health center in that it leverages the existing competencies and resources of its partners, rather than duplicating costly infrastructure, to meet shared objectives. PHERI does not grant degrees but works collaboratively with its academic partners to bring more value to students, employers and the community.

Transforming healthcare

Transformation of health requires new approaches and solutions not yet developed, from the best and brightest minds in academia as well as the front lines of healthcare. Unique in the country, our organization brings three strong academic institutions together with a leading health system to foster new ideas and bring them to life with efficiency, leverage and speed.
