Academics at Prisma Health Education and Research Institute (PHERI) goes above and beyond the basics of offering residencies and fellowships to new generations of qualified, driven and passionate medical professionals

To best address the need for compassionate and experienced care within South Carolina, we encourage our residents and fellows not only to make the most of our academic programs, but also to attend professional development courses and events designed to hone observational and communications skills to create the best possible outcome for our patients, physicians and larger community.

ACGME Southeast Hub Faculty Development Course

This 2.5-day course is designed to aid in developing skills in assessment and feedback as it relates to the ACGME’s goal of working towards Competency Based Medical Education (CBME).

14th Annual Stroke Symposium

This session will cover key standards and tools for emergent stroke evaluation, including essential diagnostic elements and treatment options.

15th Annual South Carolina Pediatric Trauma & Injury Prevention Symposium

Symposium focused on enhancing the care of injured children. Participants will be equipped with new knowledge and skills to improve the management of pediatric injuries.
