Kaitey is a native of Greenville who obtained her undergraduate degree from USC Upstate and attended PA school at Presbyterian College. She has been a paramedic for a local EMS system for eight years, which solidified her passion for medicine. Through her exposure to critical care both at work and on rotations she was inspired to continue her education in the field. She is excited to further her knowledge and skills through the Critical Care fellowship.

Critical Care APP Fellow, 2025 Cohort

Therese James graduated from Walden University in 2024, receiving a master’s degree in nursing, specializing in acute care adult-gerontology. She has impeccable experience as a respiratory therapist for 12 years and as a critical care nurse for 13 years, and she has dedicated her services to the ICU and emergency department. She is excited to elevate her knowledge, and skill sets to enhance patient care to the highest level. She is most thankful for the opportunity to be part of the Prisma Health APP fellowship program, which she believes will develop her into the best version of herself as a provider.

Critical Care APP Fellow, 2025 Cohort

Jordan is originally from Las Vegas, Nevada. She moved to the east coast in 2022 to attend Arcadia University, where she graduated with her Masters in Physician Assistant Studies in 2024. Throughout clinicals, she had several critical care rotations and felt immediately drawn to the field and motivated by her patients. She is excited to begin this fellowship to learn and grow as a provider.

Annie is a West Michigan native who moved to Milwaukee, Wisconsin in 2017 to obtain her undergraduate degree in biomedical sciences at Marquette University. She began PA school at Marquette in 2020 and earned her Master of Physician Assistant Studies in 2023. Annie was inspired by the exposure to critical care during her clinical rotations and by the patients she cared for to pursue further training in her field. She is eager to expand her knowledge and refine her clinical skills as a critical care APP fellow.

Zach Smith, PA-C

Zach Smith, PA-C

Graduate Critical Care Fellow, 2024 cohort

Zach's passion for medicine began in 2008 when he joined the Ohio Army National Guard as a combat medic and served in this role for the past 13 years until graduation from the military's IPAP school (Interservice Physician Assistant Program) in 2023. He has practiced in Afghanistan, Italy, Serbia, Thailand & Angola as well as numerous clinics state side such as The Cleveland Clinic & The Polyclinic. He is excited for the opportunity to further his knowledge through the Prisma Health APP Critical Care fellowship.

Chamberlyn Howell is a 2022 AGACNP graduate from the University of South Alabama who originally began her medical career in 2012 as a CNA. She has had a long-time passion for Critical Care medicine and is committed to becoming a well-rounded provider who can deliver high quality care to her patients. Chamberlyn is thrilled to join the Critical Care Fellowship and is eager for the challenge and growth that she will gain as an APP Fellow.

Graduate Critical Care Fellow, 2023 cohort

Tess is originally from New Jersey and moved to Greenville to obtain her bachelor’s degree from Furman University. She spends her time volunteering at the Greenville Free Clinic and a medical mission trip to Peru during college, which solidified her love for medicine and helping those in need. She completed her master’s in Physician Assistant Studies from Wingate University, where she was able to work on multiple rotations that offered critical care exposure.
