Continuing Medical Education – Columbia
At Prisma Health, we offer continuing medical education (CME) programs at each of our Midlands-area campuses.
Our CME opportunities are administered through the University of South Carolina School of Medicine-Prisma Health–Midlands Continuing Medical Education Organization which is accredited with commendation’by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME).

The University of South Carolina School of Medicine-Prisma Health–Midlands Continuing Medical Education Organization is committed to providing high quality educational experiences during this time of uncertainty.
In response to the public health crisis and in accordance with CDC guidelines for preventing the spread of the COVID-19 virus at events and gatherings, many of our live activities are being offered via virtual platforms and as recorded activities until further notice.
If you are interested in planning a virtual or future in-person activity, please contact our office as soon as possible to begin the planning process. We will continue to reassess the situation to determine when it is safe to resume in-person CME events.
Furthering medical education
The ACCME rigorously evaluates the overall CME programs of institutions according to standards adopted by all seven member organizations of the ACCME.
ACCME member organizations include:

- The American Hospital Association.
- The Association for Hospital Medical Education.
- The Association of American Medical Colleges.
- The Council of Medical Specialty Societies.
- The Federation of State Medical Boards of the U.S., Inc.
