PGY2 applicants please note:

Prisma Health will participate in PhORCAS (Pharmacy Online Residency Centralized Application Service). No additional application materials are required outside of PhORCAS.

General application requirements

  • Doctor of Pharmacy degree from an Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) accredited degree program.
  • Completion of an ASHP accredited PGY1 Pharmacy Practice/Acute Care Residency.
  • Licensed or eligible to apply for a license to practice pharmacy in the state of South Carolina, preferably by July, 1st
  • Participation in the ASHP Residency Matching Program (“The Match”).
  • Copy of academic transcripts:
    • Undergraduate or non-pharmacy transcripts are not required.
    • Only pharmacy school-related coursework must be submitted.
  • Three professional references using the Standardized Reference Template in the Pharmacy Online Residency Centralized Application Service (PhORCAS).
  • Copy of the curriculum vitae (CV).
  • Letter of intent describing reasons for seeking this particular residency.
  • Completed application submitted in PhORCAS on or before the deadline of January 3rd, 2024

Selection considerations

  • Professional competence based on the candidate’s performance in clinical experiences including but not limited to rotations, internships, and work experiences. 
  • Scholastic achievement based on the candidate’s academic transcripts.
  • Communication skills based on the candidate’s personal interview, and information from the letters of reference. 
  • Leadership potential based on the nature and extent of the candidate’s participation in professional societies, community or public services and social activities.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with others.
  • Comprehension of the current standards of pharmacy practice.
  • Understanding of the challenge of professional pharmacy practice.
