Cardiology Fellowship Columbia - Director's Welcome

Thank you for your interest in our cardiovascular disease fellowship.

Our class sizes are small, which allows us to offer a uniquely personalized program with a high volume of clinical exposure, as well as the opportunity to work closely with individual faculty in pursuing clinical research.

Our objectives are to offer balanced training to meet the rigors of a general cardiology practice and to provide a solid foundation for the potential pursuit of further subspecialty training. Our curriculum can be tailored to meet one’s individual and professional goals during elective and research training blocks. Overall training will focus on mastering the core clinical competencies of the ACGME.

The required knowledge in the field of cardiology continues to grow exponentially. Our fellows will be well prepared and exposed to leading edge technologies, as well as working with advanced cardiovascular imaging techniques. They will also have the opportunity for experience in the growing subspecialty areas of structural heart disease, peripheral vascular disease, heart failure and mechanical support.

We have high-volume LVAD and TAVR programs and offer our patients ECMO and Impella support. There is an opportunity to work in our unique inpatient heart failure accountable care unit as well as our outpatient multidisciplinary heart failure clinic. General clinic includes working in the first NCQA Level 3 Patient-Centered Specialty Practice in the U.S.

We are very excited and enthusiastic about our cardiovascular fellowship and seek trainees who are highly motivated to dedicate themselves to work hard and are committed to lifelong learning. We wish to train highly competent and compassionate cardiologists who could ultimately remain in our community and potentially become part of our growing clinical faculty.

Sincerely,

Barry J. Feldman, MD
