Hometown: Massachusetts and Georgia
Undergraduate: University of Massachusetts
Medical School:   American University of Massachusetts
Residency: Prisma Health - Greer, SC

I am a Nigerian American passionate about mental health, particularly within the youth population. I earned my undergraduate degree from the University of Massachusetts and attended medical school at the American University of Antigua. I am deeply interested in various fields within psychiatry, with a notable focus on different modalities of psychotherapy and integrating that into my medication management clinic.

I am dedicated in serving marginalized communities and individuals affected by social determinants of health. I approach patient care holistically as I believe my patient knows themselves best and I am partnering with them on their journey to becoming the best versions of themselves.

In my personal time, I enjoy cooking, collecting hot sauces, and, more recently, gardening.

I am so happy to be a part of this fellowship program and family. There are many unique opportunities here and new experiences I am so excited about. I moved to the Greenville area with my wife and kids in 2021 to start residency and was able to work with some with the CAP faculty on different rotations. Getting to work with them helped me make the decision to choose this program without hesitation. I look forward to solidifying my skills further to help patients and families navigate their way towards health and wellness. My family and I love going to Conestee Nature Preserve and doing other outdoor attractions around Greenville. The state park pass comes in clutch for us!

I am so excited to join the Child and Adolescent Fellowship at Prisma Health-Greenville. While doing residency in Greer, I had the opportunity to work with several of the faculty members at the Fellowship program, and quickly realized, I wanted to learn more from them. Pursing fellowship here was an easy decision! When not at work, you can find me playing sports with friends or visiting local restaurants.

CAP 2 - Chief Fellow

Hometown: Myrtle Beach, SC
Undergrauate: Clemson University
Medical School: University of South Carolina School of Medicine - Columbia, SC
Residency: Prisma Health – Greenville, SC

I knew from the day that I interviewed with Dr. Zappitelli as a fourth-year medical student that this fellowship was where I wanted to be! The exposure to inpatient and outpatient CAP during my three years of psychiatry residency here at Prisma Health Greenville only further cemented the desire to join this program. Being able to call Greenville home is just icing on top of the cake! When not working, you will find me in Death Valley cheering on the Tigers or exploring the many Greenville parks with my son and two doodles!

CAP 2

Hometown:  Los Angeles, CA
Undergraduate: California State University Northridge
Medical School: Ross University School of Medicine
Residency: Prisma Health - Greenville, SC

I am a native of Los Angeles, California. I graduated from California State University Northridge and earned my medical degree with high honors from Ross University School of Medicine. During my time in medical school, I received a scholarship from the American Psychiatric Association. After completing medical school, I pursued a master’s in public health from George Washington University. I moved to South Carolina to complete my general psychiatry residency and child and adolescent psychiatry fellowship.

During my academic training, I became aware of the preventable differences in health outcomes faced by underserved communities. This realization fueled my passion for health equity. My master's program provided me with the necessary knowledge to counteract these inequalities. As a result, I was able to develop and implement a health disparities curriculum in conjunction with the Greenville psychiatry residency program. I am eager to share my passion for social justice and spread awareness wherever possible.
