Gastroenterology Fellowship Greenville - Program Director

Prisma Health in Greenville, South Carolina is pleased to offer a three-year fellowship in Gastroenterology and Hepatology. Prisma Health is a not-for-profit health company with several locations in the Upstate and Midlands regions of the state of South Carolina. The Gastroenterology Fellowship is sponsored through the Prisma Health-Greenville Memorial Hospital, which is our flagship hospital located in the upstate, a major tertiary care center with a Level One Trauma Center, providing comprehensive medical care to the patient population in Upstate, South Carolina. Within the division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology, we care for a wide variety of uncomplicated and complicated GI, liver, biliary, and pancreatic diseases. The endoscopy facilities are equipped with state-of-the-art diagnostic and therapeutic technologies, including ERCP, EUS, Medtronic motility system and wireless capsule endoscopy. In addition, we have a collaborative team of Interventional Radiologists, Surgeons, GI Pathologists, and GI Oncologists to enhance patient care and the fellows educational experience.

As a Gastroenterology fellow, you will evaluate and manage patients in both inpatient and outpatient settings. Research time is provided and fellows are expected to use this time to work on projects with faculty members for presentations at national meetings. In addition, elective time is available for the fellow to explore other areas of interest in Gastroenterology and Hepatology. During the three-year program there are numerous conferences to enhance the fellows education and training. Conferences include: journal club, fellows case conference, gastroenterology morbidity and mortality, divisional quality improvement conference, pathology conference, GI multidisciplinary conference etc.,

The greatest strength of our division is undoubtedly our faculty. The Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology employs 13+ physician providers who are board certified in Gastroenterology. our faculty demonstrate strong clinical interests in General GI, advanced therapeutic endoscopy, hepatology, functional bowel disorders, inflammatory bowel diseases and clinical nutrition. The learning environment ensures that fellows will have a diverse clinical experiences and various diagnostic and therapeutic procedures to accomplish the ACGME competencies outlined for a Gastroenterology Fellowship.
