Geriatrics Fellowship Columbia - Director's Welcome

Welcome to the Prisma Health/University of South Carolina School of Medicine Columbia Geriatrics Fellowship Program.

A career in geriatrics will afford you opportunities to practice almost anywhere in the nation, from urban to rural areas, and in more practice types than you can imagine, from outpatient to inpatient practice, administration, long term care, program development and other non-traditional settings.

Since its inception in 1997, the Geriatrics Fellowship Program  has graduated more than 40 physicians who now practice in a wide variety of settings.

On this site you will see examples of our geriatric curriculum, clinical rotations and educational activities. We have a well-rounded program that has been highly rated by our fellows and has been accredited “with commendation” by the RRC.

With the aging of the population, the opportunities in the field of geriatrics will only expand over time.

The Prisma Health/UofSC School of Medicine Geriatric Fellowship program and the Division of Geriatrics are recognized as one of the top programs in the nation with recognition from the Donald W. Reynolds Foundation and the Hartford Foundation.
