Hospice and Palliative Care Fellowship Columbia - How to Apply

Application information

Acceptance into the program requires graduation from a medical school approved by the Council on Graduate Medical Education of the American Medical Association.

Foreign graduates must have a standard ECFMG certificates and be eligible for permanent immigrant status as well as for licensure in South Carolina. First-year fellowship appointments are made through the matching plan of the National Resident Matching Program.

In addition to a completed application form, the following documents are required:
  • A personal statement detailing your interest in hospice and palliative care.
  • Three letters of recommendation including one from the director of your residency program.
  • Scores from USMLE.
  • Curriculum vitae.
  • Visa status form (if applicable).

Selected applicants are interviewed by the Residency Selection Committee. All applications and interviews will be completed in time to allow both parties to meet NRMP deadlines; interviews are scheduled from early-August through mid-October.

All application materials are received through the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS). Other correspondence should be submitted to the Fellowship Coordinator, Paola Ospina.
