Hospice and Palliative Care Fellowship Columbia - Program Details
Comprehensive hospice and palliative care training
The fellowship training will last for a total of 13 blocks (over a period of 12 months), which will be distinct from and follow three years of training in an accredited residency program.
During those 13 blocks of preparation, the fellow will be expected to progressively gain the knowledge and skills necessary to manage conditions for seriously ill patients and for those at the end-of-life. Elective time will be offered to accommodate individual training requirements and career goals for each fellow.
The main training objective of the subspecialty is to give residents an organized, comprehensive, supervised, full-time educational experience. Our fellows will receive excellent training and will be exposed to clinical practice in a variety of institutional settings, evidence-based medicine practices, cutting-edge technologies—including advanced imaging and interventional techniques—and will have the chance to work closely with individual faculty members in pursuing interesting clinical research projects.
