The Venous and Lymphatic Medicine Fellow is expected to perform clinical research. Biostatistician support, medical writers and medical students are available to assist the effort. In addition, a spirit of interdepartmental cooperation fosters joint research efforts with faculty across the specialty spectrum as it relates to venous and lymphatic topics. The fellow is expected to present original work at the annual meeting of the American Venous & Lymphatic Society or to submit articles for publication.

The noninvasive vascular lab is both an inpatient and outpatient facility in which over 20,000 procedures take place annually. The fellow will be instructed in vascular imaging and interpretation and will interpret more than 1,000 studies a year. The fellow is expected to become a Registered Phlebology Sonographer (RPHS) and a Registered Physician in Vascular Interpretation (RPVI) on program completion. This fellowship is a unique opportunity to work one-on-one with vascular sonographers and physician faculty within Prisma Health’s Division of Vascular Medicine and with faculty from Clemson University.

Our health organization is equipped with a full-service health library. Support team members include a full-time librarian; biostatistician; and full-time administrative assistant for vascular registry data entry, slide presentation and research assistance.
