Division of Community Outreach

The Prisma Health Department of Emergency Medicine Division of Community Outreach (EM DOCS) partners with local governmental and non-governmental agencies in 5 domains (environmental initiatives, social determinants of health, school-based and educational initiatives, community medical services, and community health improvement partnerships) to provide avenues for our faculty to participate in social progress activities.

DOCS coordinates multiple service events in collaboration with the Emergency Medicine residency to foster camaraderie amongst faculty and trainees while investing in the local community. The Division also participates in hands-only CPR education events, often partnering with Root Cause, a community health fair led by USCSOMG students.  This significant involvement in social progress initiatives underscores the unwavering commitment of our faculty and staff to uphold our purpose statement – to 'Inspire Health, Serve with Compassion, and Be the Difference.'
