Emergency Medicine Residency Greenville - Pay It Forward Fund
Pay It Forward Emergency Medicine Development Fund
Dear Faculty and Friends of Prisma Health Department of Emergency Medicine:
We invite you to “Pay it forward” as we continue to train excellent residents in the Prisma Health Emergency Medicine (EM) Residency Program (formerly Greenville Health System).
Pay it forward is an expression to describe the act of a beneficiary of a good deed to repay it to someone else. The phrase is credited to Lily Hardy Hammond who wrote in her 1916 book In the Garden of Delight, “You don’t pay love back; you pay it forward.”
Contributing to the Prisma Health EM Academic Advancement Fund can be your way to Pay it forward. The Prisma Health Department of Emergency Medicine mission is to transform emergency care by training emergency medicine residents to provide compassionate, high-quality, patient-centered emergency care. We are developing the next generation of Emergency Medicine physician leaders for the Upstate and the nation.
To train the next generation of EM physician leaders many costs are incurred that would be eliminated with your Pay it Forward contribution to the Prisma Health EM Academic Advancement Fund. This fund was established due to decreasing financial support for unreimbursed activities that fulfill our Department of Emergency Medicine mission.
Your tax deductible charitable gift will provide indispensable educational, experiential and growth opportunities for our residents such as:
- Attend a regional or national meeting to present their scholarly project
- Invite and learn from internationally invited speakers at Grand Rounds
- Recognize and award exceptional clinical and academic performance
- Augment the Life Beyond Residency Wellness Curriculum implementation
- Provide seed funding for new educational and academic programming
We already appreciate greatly your expertise and time that you have put into building our EM residency program. Your Pay it forward payroll deduction or donation will be well invested sustaining the high-quality of our program and train the next generation of physician leaders in emergency medicine.
