Center for Family Medicine – Greenville

The Center for Family Medicine was built in 1997 and is currently located on the second level of the medical office building on 877 W. Faris road.

Our team is dedicated to providing high-quality education and excellence in clinical care using the model of the “high-functioning primary care residency clinic,” to achieve a dual mission: high quality education and excellence in clinical care. There is also added emphasis on continuous quality improvement and population health to create a comprehensive experience for providers that meet the needs of the communities they serve.

Currently, the center has 18 exam rooms, two procedure rooms, one lab, upwards of 20 offices, four co-location areas for clinical care, a break room for staff and a multi-purpose conference room. Our diverse staff includes faculty and resident physicians, a clinical pharmacist, nursing staff (RN, LPM and CMAs), lab technician, coding specialist, social worker, front office and a clinic management team.

The Center for Family Medicine provides full-scope family medicine, which includes obstetric, pediatric and adult medicine, as well as specialty services in the fields of LGBTQ+ care, sports medicine, refugee and migrant care and complex diabetes management.

Additionally, the healthcare team also provides inpatient care, home visits, transitional care, same day/acute care, and virtual care/telemedicine to provide comprehensive primary care services for our patients.

Greenville County Detention Center

Located in downtown Greenville, residents provide care of adult patients from the Greenville county detention center periodically during the PGY2 and PGY3 years. Residents travel to the detention center once weekly during select rotations and see patients providing procedural care and medical consultation. Patients are also seen for hospital follow up after being discharged from our inpatient hospital service.

Prisma Health Mobile Health Clinic

Prisma Health is actively engaged in finding innovative ways to reach the patients that need us the most. One such avenue is through the use of the Prisma Mobile Health Clinic. The clinic is a fully functioning mobile unit that visits different communities with identified need to provide primary and urgent care services.

Staffed by a full-time nurse practitioner with oversight provided by the departments of family and emergency medicine, the Mobile Health Clinic is in the community Monday–Thursday at rotating sites.

Residents periodically rotate on the mobile health clinic during their PGY2 and PGY3 years. This is just one of the ways the Department of Family Medicine is working to actively manage the population health of patients in our community.
