Family Medicine Residency Greenville - Program Details

Residency program overview

Thank you for taking time to visit our website and for your interest in the Prisma Health Family Medicine Residency Program in Greenville, South Carolina. Our program is a three-year ACGME-accredited program, first established in 1971.

We have successfully trained 348 residents and enjoy a long tradition of educational excellence in supporting primary care, not only in the Upstate but throughout South Carolina and beyond.

Founded in 1971, our program is a 6-6-6 resident complement. We work collaboratively with the other residency and fellowship programs at Prisma Health Greenville Memorial Hospital, our primary teaching campus.

Our outpatient clinic is located across the street from the hospital, which shares the campus with the University of South Carolina School of Medicine Greenville.

We aim to train physicians who are competent to independently practice broad scope family medicine with advanced training in areas of interest and within a variety of settings across the continuum of care. Most of our graduates enter community outpatient practices, but we have also placed several graduates into primary care sports medicine fellowships and academic family medicine positions.

We are committed to the mission of improving health for patients within the Upstate of South Carolina and beyond.

We welcome diverse applicants who are passionate about community engagement and providing care that is compassionate, evidence-based, high-value, and equitable for all patients.
