Family Medicine Residency Greer - Curriculum

As a new program, we are excited about our innovative, future-oriented curriculum that focuses on training you to be the type of family physician our communities will need both now and in the years to come. Our curriculum will prepare you to manage acute and chronic medical conditions, work in a collaborative care setting, and to lead population health initiatives with emphasis on a healthy lifestyle and prevention. During your three years of training, you will have the following experiences:

Core Curriculum

  • Family Medicine Continuity Clinic– 9 dedicated Blocks (with additional continuity time during other rotations) 
  • Inpatient Wards (Adult, Pediatric and Newborn Care) – 8 Blocks
  • Women’s Health (OB/GYN) – 3 Blocks
  • Pediatric Medicine (Inpatient, Emergency Department and Outpatient Clinic)– 4 Blocks
  • Surgery (General and Specialty Experiences)– 2 Blocks
  • Emergency Medicine– 2 Blocks
  • Musculoskeletal (Orthopedic and Sports Medicine) – 2 Blocks
  • Electives– 4 Blocks
