Clinic information

The Center for Family Medicine in Oconee is a new, 14,000 square foot state-of-the-art family medicine clinic. It is located on the campus of Oconee Memorial Hospital and within walking distance of the local YMCA. It includes 24 exam rooms, 2 treatment rooms, and is separated into 4 pods named after local lakes (Keowee, Jocassee, Hartwell, and Issaqueena). Additionally, the clinic includes an in-house laboratory and X-ray suite.

Services offered on the Issaqueena specialty pod include osteopathic manipulative treatment, child/adolescent psychiatric visits, telehealth visits, women’s health procedures (including colposcopy), ultrasound-guided procedures, mental health therapy, and more.

Hospital information

Oconee Memorial Hospital is a 169-bed facility surrounded by panoramic views of the Blue Ridge Mountains and Lake Keowee. Hospital services include a 20-bed emergency department, an open intensive care unit, comprehensive labor and delivery unit, inpatient pediatric unit, a breast care center, inpatient hospice and palliative care services, and a non-invasive heart catheterization lab, just to name a few. Additionally, the hospital is a 501(c)3 organization, making it an eligible site for public service loan forgiveness.

Team-based care

At Seneca Family Medicine Residency, we believe that teamwork makes the dream work and we’ve structured the outpatient learning environment into 4 different “teams” to help foster this motto. On day one of work, you will be assigned to a pod team (named after a local lake – Jocassee, Hartwell, Keowee, and Issaqueena). Throughout your 3 years at the clinic, you will work within this team and with the same medical assistant/nursing staff assigned to the team. This provides patient continuity on the days you cannot be in clinic or are on vacation – additionally, your teammates will help cover your desktop while you are out. We believe this team-based model improves efficiency and patient continuity and are excited for you to join us!
