First-year residents
Diwas Bam was born in Nepal and grew up in an all-boys boarding school in India. He earned a merit scholarship to pursue medical school in Nepal and completed a Master of Public Health at Johns Hopkins in Baltimore, MD. He have worked in various roles spanning research, to public health program in HIV/AIDS to clinical medicine. Outside medicine, he enjoys spending time in nature hiking, mountain biking or kayaking and doing Yoga regularly (I am a registered Yoga teacher too!).
Medical School: Kathmandu Medical College
Professional Interests: Full Spectrum Family Medicine, Rural Medicine, Lifestyle Medicine and Global Health.
What attracted you to Seneca FM: Being unopposed residency program and ability to train as a truly all-rounder aka family medicine doc! Focus on resident wellness, support by the faculty and staff in honing the clinical skills and emphasis on academics as well.
What makes Seneca FM Special: The longitudinal curriculum and the people! The faculty are very approachable and supportive. Being an unopposed residency program is a very big plus.
Remy was born and raised in Haiti and moved to Florida after completed his secondary education in Haiti in the pursuit of undergraduate studies in Molecular & Microbiology and Pre-clinical & Health sciences at the University of Central Florida, Orlando. Having been born and raised in Haiti, he witnessed a lot of health care disparities. One of his ultimate goals is to one day be able to provide a broad range of medical care to low-income communities, be involved in global health, and hopefully being able to provide humanitarian healthcare to the do not have.
His favorite hobbies include running, hiking, tubbing, playing soccer, exercising, traveling and spending time with my family and friends.

Professional Interests: I enjoy full scope of family medicine with specific interests in Preventive Medicine, Lifestyle Medicine, Global Health, Community Medicine, Women Health and Men’s Health.
What attracted you to Seneca FM: During the second look events, I was so impressed on the cozy, family-like vibes among residents, faculty. I like the fact the program curriculum is longitudinal and unopposed as compared to other family residency programs in the country.
What makes Seneca FM Special: Besides the amazing faculties and great professional supports, Seneca is a place with many outdoor activities like hiking trails, waterfalls, recreational parks, which I personally enjoy.
Ryan grew up in the Carolinas and is thrilled to be back home. He is a big sci-fi nerd and can give you a greatest hit reading list at any time. He worked in the non-profit world for years, but always had medicine as the eventual goal, and started medical school in his 30's. He loves hikes, running, board games, lake days, going to the gym, concerts, and reading.

Professional Interests: I am interested in full scope practice, inpatient, outpatient, woman’s healthcare, and obstetrics, also academic medicine.

Myers was born in Concord NC. Went to Presbyterian College for Undergrad, Campbell University for Masters Degree. In his spare time he enjoys hiking, fishing, Golf, Basketball, and watching sports!

What attracted you to Seneca FM: I loved the idea of a longitudinal curriculum. Also, the rural, full scope medicine that the unopposed hospital provides.
What makes Seneca FM Special: The people more than anything!
Hanna was born and raised in Seneca, SC and graduated from West-Oak High School. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences and a Sports Communication minor from Clemson University in 2020. In her spare time, she enjoys attending Clemson and West-Oak High School sporting events and Atlanta Braves baseball games, spending time with family and friends, volunteering in the community, attending church, hiking to local waterfalls, fishing, playing tennis, and hanging out at the lake.

What attracted you to Seneca FM: I knew I wanted to come home and serve the community that gave so much to me. I love the full-spectrum family medicine training and the opportunity to explore my areas of interest further.
What makes Seneca FM Special: SFMR is special because of the people. Everyone here truly loves what they do- from the administration to faculty and staff and all the way to the residents. It truly feels like a family. Everyone is willing to help you obtain your professional goals.
Joseph Tiller was born in Logan, WV where he lived until the age of eleven. At eleven he moved to Charlotte, NC then to Fort Mill, SC at the age of 13. He graduated from Winthrop University with a BS in Education, and then worked several years in the natural gas industry doing service work, and sales. He enjoys spending time with his wife Jill and children Rylan and Reagan, traveling, fishing (especially surf fishing), and grilling.

Professional Interests: Rural Medicine, Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine, Full Scope Practice, Community Medicine and Preventative Medicine.
What attracted you to Seneca FM: The community surrounding the program, and the people that live in the area, in addition to the longitudinal curriculum.
What makes Seneca FM Special: The people that we work with, and the varied experiences that are available to residents, in addition to the longitudinal curriculum that allows early exposure to different aspects of medicine within the community.
Second-year residents
Xavier Alston is from Spotsylvania, Virginia, and completed his undergraduate studies in Biology, Environmental Studies, and Kinesiology at Shenandoah University in Winchester, Virginia. He worked as a medical scribe in a rural ER and a busy allergy and asthma clinic for 1 year prior to starting medical school at Ross University School of Medicine. Dr. Alston enjoys playing all sports but more specifically basketball and baseball. He also enjoys outdoor activities like hiking, fishing, and kayaking with his wife, family, and friends.

Kripa Joseph is originally from Bangalore, India, where she attended B.R. Ambedkar Medical College. After graduating, she completed her residency in Anesthesiology. After moving to the United States and volunteering at various family medicine clinics, she decided to transition her career into family medicine. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with my family, painting, and traveling.

What attracted you to Seneca FM: I was drawn to the Seneca Family Medicine Residency Program because of its strong emphasis on community-based care and its commitment to serving diverse patient populations. The supportive learning environment, combined with the opportunity to work closely with experienced faculty, provides an ideal setting for developing comprehensive skills in family medicine. Additionally, the program's focus on holistic patient care and its dedication to resident well-being aligns perfectly with my personal values and career goals.

Alex Marchek was born and raised in Greenville, South Carolina. He left the state to major in Health Science at the University of Florida before returning to attend the University of South Carolina School of Medicine Greenville. Within medicine, his interests include sports medicine with an emphasis in ultrasound guided injections and care of endurance athletes. His free time is consumed by training as a competitive distance runner and fishing on Lake Keowee.
Hui-Lin Tsai is from Taipei, Taiwan. She graduated from China Medical University, where she earned her Doctor of Medicine and Doctor of Chinese Medicine degrees. She worked at Taipei Veterans General Hospital where she received training in Family Medicine, Acupuncture, and Herbal Medicine before moving to Clemson, SC with her husband. She has been a clinical professor at Public Health Sciences at Clemson University and a faculty scholar of Clemson University School of Health Research (CUSHR) prior to joining the Seneca Family Medicine Residency Program.

Third-year residents
Alexis Almeida is from Bluffton, South Carolina. She received her bachelor's degree with a minor in psychology at the University of South Carolina in Columbia. After working as a medical assistant for three years she went on to earn her medical doctorate at Saint George’s University. Her interests include full-spectrum family medicine, women’s health and maternal-child medicine. She is thrilled to return home to South Carolina and complete her residency in the upstate. Her hobbies include spending time with family and friends, movies, cooking, traveling and trying new restaurants or events in the community.
Connor Landers is from Greeneville, Tennessee. He received bachelor’s degree in Health Sciences/Microbiology from East Tennessee State University. His personal hobbies include spending time with his wife, two dogs, family, playing music, golf and basketball. He is very excited to be serving the Seneca community throughout his residency.
Medical School: Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine in Spartanburg, SC
Professional Interests: Full Spectrum Family Medicine with interests in Hospital Medicine and Emergency medicine.
Allison Parrill is from Newfoundland, Canada. She received a bachelor's degree in cell and molecular biology and biochemistry from Memorial University of Newfoundland, and her master's degree in medical education from Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine. Before applying to medicine, Dr. Parrill finished the majority of nursing school. Outside of medicine, she enjoys yoga, hiking, cooking, paddle boarding and adventures with her dog, Penny!

Professional Interests: Her passions within medicine include full scope rural family medicine, women's and newborn health, medical research, and medical education.
What attracted you to Senena FM: I knew right away on interview day that Seneca FMR catapulted to my number 1 choice! The close-knit, small community feel, longitudinal curriculum, supportive faculty and friendly residents are even more apparent in person! Also, the beautiful area is the icing on top!
What makes Seneca FM Special: Our rural hospital with exceptional attendings and ample procedures make this the best place to learn to be a full scope family medicine physician.
Tyler Raeford is from Buford, Georgia. He has a microbiology degree from the University of Georgia. His love for primary care grew while he volunteered and worked in Athens at Mercy Health Center, a non-profit whole-person care clinic, as the pharmacy coordinator. He received his master’s degree, concentrated in forensic medicine, from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in Atlanta and remained at PCOM for medical school. Tyler is excited now to be in South Carolina taking care of rural Seneca and, specifically, his OB patients. Outside of the hospital he enjoys tennis, roller blading, aerial yoga and new restaurants; his goal is to visit all of the beautiful hikes and waterfalls nearby.
Rebekah Rowe is originally from Pelion, South Carolina. She obtained her bachelor's degree in biology from Wofford College, and chose to stay in Spartanburg to attend Edward via College of Osteopathic Medicine for medical school. Rebekah is passionate about serving families throughout all stages of life and has special interests in dermatology, women’s health, and osteopathic manipulative therapy. Outside of medicine, she enjoys spending time with her husband, reading, hiking, yoga, and crafting.
Aliza Tess Williams is originally from Chattanooga, Tennessee, and moved in high school to Cincinnati, Ohio. She earned her undergraduate degree in biochemistry and molecular biology at Centre College in Danville, Kentucky, and her medical degree from Ohio University in Athens, Ohio. She played tennis competitively all through high school and college and continues to play during her free time. Dr. Williams also loves all things outdoors, including hiking and water skiing, and is very excited to be in an area abundant in both aspects. She hopes to be able to travel to as many national parks and volcanoes as possible having already traveled to Yellowstone, Hawaii, Italy, and New Zealand! When not at work, you can find her spending times with friends and family, trying out new restaurants, and spending as much time outside as possible.

Professional Interests: Full scope family medicine with special interests in sports medicine, contraceptive counseling, hospital medicine, lifestyle medicine and wellness.
What attracted you to Senena FM: SFMR is unique in many ways from having an unopposed program to having extensive education in what it means to be a full scope family medicine physician! The faculty and staff go above and beyond to help residents achieve their goals and help them obtain as many procedures and experiences as possible. I knew that if I joined the program, they would help me be the best future physician I could be and help me reach any goal I set to obtain! Also, coming from Ohio after an artic front made SC weather all that more appealing!
What makes Seneca FM Special: "The residents, opportunities for procedures, exposure to full scope family medicine, the faculty/staff, the area and patient population.
With Clemson University, Appalachia, and Lake Keowee only 15-30 minutes away, our patient population is vast! Regardless of what practice you hope to join after residency, if it be Student Health at a University or full scope rural family medicine, we have the patient population here. Also, a perk for resident wellness days are lake days, which cannot be said for many programs!"
