The Prisma Health General Surgery Residency Program in Greenville, South Carolina, strives to provide collegial camaraderie within an atmosphere conducive for learning surgery.

Our program provides teaching and clinical experience that enables residents to become capable, competent and compassionate surgeons. Research opportunities are abundant and residents are encouraged to participate in academic pursuits.

Objectives

At the completion of this program, each chief resident will have:

• Understand the work ethic necessary to be a successful surgeon.
• Extensive operative experience that far exceeds minimum ACGME requirements.
• Have the academic background to successfully attain board certification.
• The ability to go directly into general surgery practice or pursue a surgical fellowship.
