Internal Medicine Residency Columbia - Areas of Rotation
Wide-ranging care coverage
Residents in the Internal Medicine Residency Program at Prisma Health in Columbia devote time to inpatient care, ambulatory care, medical intensive care and elective subspecialty rotations.
The general medicine service at each hospital consists of two teams, each of which is made up of one attending, one senior resident, two interns, and 3rd- and 4th-year medical students. The teams receive admissions every other day.
Two senior level residents share the day and night float roles each block, each spending two weeks in each role. The night float resident covers six nights per week during that two-week period.
