Internal Medicine Residency Greenville - How to Apply

To be eligible for selection, applicants must apply via the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS), and must be enrolled in the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP). Applications will be reviewed from October to December. However, we encourage you to apply early to ensure that interview spots are still available.

For the 2024-2025 residency application season, all Internal Medicine applicants will be allotted 3 “Gold” and 12 “Silver” program signals. While we preferentially review applications from those who signal our program, we also consider applicants who do not signal us. The selection process aims to holistically evaluate candidates’ applications including academic achievements, letters of recommendation, and evidence of professional qualifications such as communication, scholarly work, advocacy, and other achievements.

Selected applicants will be invited to interview with the Resident Selection Committee. During the 2024-2025 interview season interviews will be held virtually.

Applicants must have completed medical school within the past three years. We require three letters of recommendation, one of which should be a DOM Summary Letter of Evaluation or Chairman's letter, and at least two from a physician practicing in the U.S. International applicants must be ECFMG certified and current. Prisma Health sponsors J-1 visas only. Applicants must have some clinical experience in the U.S. within the past year. Meeting the above criteria does not guarantee that an interview will be offered; for further admission criteria and benefits, please see our information on FREIDA™ AMA Residency & Fellowship Programs Database.
