When not at work you can find me: Biking the swamp rabbit trail, practicing aerial silks, trying new restaurants downtown, or taking my two cats Joey & Phoebe on a walk in their stroller.
Favorite place in Greenville: (I can't pick just one!) Swamp Rabbit Trail, Farmer's Market, Lake Jocassee, Vault & Vator Speakeasy
What drew me to the program: Even though I interviewed during the first year of the virtual format, I noticed that I had especially warm and welcoming interactions with the residents and faculty here. I felt that I fit right in and could find support and family within this program. I also loved the size of the city, because you can get the downtown experience, but have plenty of outdoor activities in close proximity. The program itself was also impressive and I felt confident that I would be well prepared for any career opportunities that I wished to pursue. My 3 years of residency truly has been a testament to this!
Why I wanted to stay for chief year: I felt that a chief year would be a great opportunity to grow as a physician and teacher, while also getting some experience in an administrative role. Additionally, I plan to stay in Greenville with Prisma and have always enjoyed providing mentorship and advocating for wellness. I want help the incoming residents become the best doctors they can be while also enjoying the journey!

What drew me to the program: Many graduates and faculty from my medical school raved about the Prisma Health residency programs. After interviewing with the Prisma – Health Upstate Internal Medicine program, I completely understood why. This program offers innovative and evidence-based internal medicine training in a uniquely humble and supportive environment. Numerous opportunities exist for residents to tailor their training towards their career interests, and faculty are approachable and eager to teach. All of the residents I interacted with during my interview were kind, inviting, and very happy to be living and working in Greenville. The city of Greenville was the cherry on top of an already wonderful residency program, as it boasts many outdoor activities, restaurants, events, and opportunities for young professionals. I am grateful for the privilege of being a part of this wonderful training program and community!
Why I chose to do a Chief year: The Prisma Health – Upstate Internal Medicine residency program offers innovative and evidence-based internal medicine training in a uniquely humble and supportive environment. Numerous opportunities exist for residents to tailor their training towards their career interests, and faculty are approachable and eager to teach. I was very excited to be given the opportunity to stay another year and work with our awesome residents and faculty as a chief resident. I am especially passionate about Geriatrics and primary care and cannot wait to share this with residents. Ultimately, the culture of Prisma Health and city of Greenville are hard to beat.
