Sarah Hinton, MD

Sarah Hinton, MD

Program Director

Dr. Hinton received her undergraduate degree from Wofford College and her medical degree from the University of South Carolina School of Medicine. She completed her Med-Peds residency at Prisma Health Upstate and served as chief resident in her 4th year.

Following residency, she worked at a federally qualified health center in the Upstate. She returned to Prisma Health in 2016.

During her time at Prisma Health, Dr. Hinton has served in leadership roles in clinical operations and graduate medical education (GME), such as the adolescent medicine rotation director and medical director of Student Health Services at Furman University. She is currently the chairperson of the Prisma Health Pediatric to Adult Care Transition committee. She was previously an Associate Program Director for the Med-Peds residency program before accepting her role as Program Director.

Her special interests include caring for under-resourced communities, adolescent and young adult medicine, LGBTQ+ care, pediatric to adult care transition and advocacy.

As a clinical educator, she is passionate about creating a psychologically safe clinical learning environment, resident wellness and advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her family, enjoying the outdoors (trail running, flat water kayaking, hiking), and traveling.

Senthuran Ravindran, MD

Associate Program Director

Dr. Senthuran Ravindran received his undergraduate degree in Biology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and completed his medical degree at East Carolina University Brody School of Medicine. He completed his Med-Peds residency training locally at this program, served as Med-Peds Chief Resident 2014-2015 and became Associate Program Director after graduation.

 

Since graduation, he has served as a Med-Peds hospitalist at Greer Memorial Hospital, received point-of-care ultrasound training and directs the Greer Hospitalist Medicine resident rotation.  He became Pediatric Hospital Medicine board-certified in the Fall 2022 and attends on the Pediatric Wards at the Prisma Health Children’s Hospital. In the last three years, he has received the 2021 Dr. Lloyd Hayes Hospitalist Service Award, the 2022 Leonard Tow Humanism in Medicine Award, and the 2022 South Carolina American College of Physicians Early Career Physician Award.

His professional interests include hospital medicine, diversity/inclusion/equity promotion, resident mentorship and medical education especially individualized board preparation. 

Susan Li, MD

Susan Li, MD

Associate Program Director

Dr. Li received her undergraduate degree in Chemistry from Davidson College and her medical degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She completed her Med-Peds residency training at The Ohio State University and Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus, Ohio.

Following completion of residency, she remained on faculty at Ohio State practicing med/peds primary care and served as an adult cystic fibrosis (CF) provider at Nationwide Children’s Hospital for several years. During that time, she also developed a collaborative primary care and transition model for patients with CF and conducted research related to extrapulmonary disease management in adults with CF. In 2023, she joined the Prisma Health family, working in med/peds primary care and serving as the associate program director for the Med-Peds residency.

Her academic interests include cystic fibrosis, adolescent and young adult transition for special populations, breastfeeding medicine and resident mentorship.

Megan Houston

Megan Houston

Program Administrator

Megan Houston has been with Prisma Health since 2010.

After almost 10 years with the Bradshaw Institute for Community Child Health & Advocacy, she shifted her focus to Graduate Medical Education with the Med Peds Residency and Developmental Behavioral Pediatric Fellowship and hasn’t looked back. 

Megan has a Masters of Education in Math & Science and began her career as a middle school math teacher.  Working in the world of GME, she is able to draw from her experiences as both a teacher and a child health advocate.

Megan graduated from Auburn University and cheers for the “other Tigers” any chance she gets! Megan and her husband, Howie enjoy spending time outside with their dogs, traveling to new places, hiking and grilling any piece of meat Howie can find on their Big Green Egg.
