Internal Medicine-Pediatrics Residency Greenville - Program Director's Welcome

Welcome!  I’m glad you’re here, learning more about the Prisma Health/University of South Carolina School of Medicine-Greenville Med-Peds residency training program. I am a 2014 graduate of this residency program and have been a faculty member in the program since 2016. I can confidently say that our program has all the essential elements for a truly outstanding Med-Peds residency training experience.

Our residents participate in two excellent categorical programs and have their own well-established and distinct identity as Med-Peds physicians. Additionally, our residents are very fortunate to learn in a state-of-the-art facility with fantastic Med-Peds and categorical teaching faculty.  The clinical services and diversity within the patient population is expansive and inclusive.

Our health system benefits from hosting one of the newest four-year allopathic medical schools in the United States, The University of South Carolina School of Medicine, GreenvilleOpens in a new window. The medical school provides many opportunities for our residents to teach and mentor medical students in various settings and fosters an even stronger academic environment for our already exceptional clinical and teaching programs. We also share academic and research partnerships with the University of South Carolina, Clemson University, and Furman University.

I’m very committed to mentorship and career development for our Med-Peds residents, and I’m confident that Med-Peds residents graduating from our program have a full range of career opportunities available to them.  We are fortunate to have more than 40 Med-Peds-trained faculty within Prisma Health, including hospitalists, primary care physicians, and specialists who are actively involved in the education and mentorship of our residents.  Additionally, our residents benefit from Med-Peds-specific educational activities such as weekly Med-Peds noon conferences, journal clubs, workshops, and guest speakers.

I encourage you to consider our program if you are looking for a supportive yet challenging training environment in which you get to serve a diverse population of patients.  And as a bonus, Greenville, SC is a wonderful place to live and work! Don’t just take my word for it; Our city is repeatedly ranked among the best places to live in the U.S.
