Meet our residents
2025
Karlee Gibbon, MD, is a resident physician in obstetrics and gynecology at Prisma Health in Columbia, South Carolina. She received her undergraduate degree from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville in biochemistry and cellular and molecular biology with a minor in psychology, and obtained her medical degree from East Tennessee State University in Johnson City, TN.
Dr. Gibbon's special interests include biking along the riverwalk, getting arepas at the Soda City Market, exploring new restaurants and bars and cuddling with her cat Figaro.
Hannah Puckett, MD, is a resident physician in obstetrics and gynecology at Prisma Health in Columbia, South Carolina. She received her undergraduate degree in biological sciences from Clemson University in Clemson, South Carolina, and received her medical degree from the University of South Carolina School of Medicine Columbia.
Dr. Puckett's special interests include going on hikes with her boxer puppy, spending weekends on Lake Norman, and doing DIY home improvement projects.
Lea Russell, MD, is a resident physician in obstetrics and gynecology at Prisma Health in Columbia, South Carolina. She received her undergraduate degree from the College of Charleston and obtained her medical degree from the Medical University of South Carolina, both in Charleston.
Dr. Russell’s professional interests include reproductive health advocacy, diversity and inclusion efforts and medical student education. When she’s not at work, you can find her competing in sailboat races, running the riverwalk with co-residents, taking a barre class or baking dessert.
Lauren Summerell, DO, is a resident physician in obstetrics and gynecology at Prisma Health in Columbia, South Carolina. She completed her undergraduate degree in biological sciences at Clemson University in Clemson, South Carolina, and received her medical degree from Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine in Spartanburg, South Carolina.
Dr. Summerell’s interests include crafting cocktails, adventures with puppies and actively resuscitating her poor house plants
2026
Margaret Barrett, MD, is a resident in obstetrics/gynecology at Prisma Health-Columbia Campus, South Carolina. She received her undergraduate degree in exercise science from the University of South Carolina and her medical degree from the University of South Carolina School of Medicine.
Dr. Barrett’s special interests include running at the riverwalk, gardening, and cooking new foods. When not at work you can find her antiquing, cheering on the Gamecocks, or visiting one of Columbia’s many breweries with friends!
Kayce Booth, MD, is a resident in obstetrics and gynecology at Prisma Health in Columbia, South Carolina. She obtained both her undergraduate and medical degree from the University of South Carolina and loves cheering on the Gamecocks.
Dr. Booth’s interests include cooking and trying new foods, collecting bourbon and listening to live music. When not at work, you can find her playing board games and visiting breweries with her friends or hanging with her cat Maureen.
Jessica Cunningham, MD, PhD, is a resident in obstetrics/gynecology at Prisma Health-Columbia Campus, South Carolina. She received her undergraduate degree from Mercyhurst University in Biochemistry, and obtained both her medical degree and doctor of philosophy in neuroscience from West Virginia University.
Dr. Cunningham's special interests include crafts, everything penguin related, the outdoors, and her cat. She enjoys spending time with her husband grilling (and eating!) food, visiting breweries, floating in the pool, and watching various sports.
K. Bree Harper, MD is a resident in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Prisma Health -Columbia Campus, South Carolina. She received her undergraduate degree from University of Georgia and obtained her medical degree from Mercer University School of Medicine.
Dr. Harper's special interest include spending time with friends and family, listening to live music, and rooting for the Georgia Bulldogs during football season.

Baylee Edwards, MD is a resident in obstetrics and gynecology at Prisma Health-Columbia Campus, South Carolina. She received her undergraduate degree from The University of Mississippi in Nutrition with minors in Biology, Chemistry, and Mathematics and obtained her medical degree from The University of South Alabama College of Medicine.
In her free time, Baylee enjoys working on her pottery wheel, sunbathing with her three dogs, free time with her friends, exploring new restaurants with her fiancé, working on her needlepoint, and snacking on okra (in no particular order)!
Ashlie Pilotti, MD is a resident in obstetrics/gynecology at Prisma Health - Columbia Campus, South Carolina. She received her undergraduate degree from Coastal Carolina University in Cellular/Molecular Biology and Genetics and obtained her medical degree from The University of South Carolina School of Medicine - Columbia Campus.
Dr. Pilotti's special interests include playing music bingo at Columbia Craft, walking her dog Blaze on the Riverwalk, shopping at Soda City Market, and spending time with friends at the various Columbia restaurants and breweries.
Sydney Rush, MD, is a resident in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Prisma Health in Columbia, South Carolina. She received her undergraduate degree from Clemson University in Human Nutrition and obtained her medical degree from The University of South Carolina School of Medicine- Columbia.
Dr. Rush's special interests include hot yoga, mountain biking, exploring local breweries, and spending time with her rescue pup, Ripley.
Angie Nguyen Smith, MD, is a resident in obstetrician/gynecologist at Prisma Health in Columbia, South Carolina. She received her undergraduate degree from Georgia Gwinnett College in Biology and obtained her medical degree from Mercer University School of Medicine – Macon Campus.
Dr. Smith special interests include karaoke, board games, and reading new books. On her days off, you can find her finding new fun places to eat, and hanging out with her husband and dog, Honey.
Meagan Sullivan, MD, is a resident in obstetrician/gynecologist at Prisma Health-Columbia Campus, South Carolina. She received her undergraduate degree from the State University of New York at Geneseo in Biology and obtained her medical degree from the Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences at SUNY Buffalo.
Dr. Sullivan’s special interests include playing sports, sunbathing outside with a good book, or exploring new places to eat or grab drinks. You can find her hanging out at breweries with her significant other and walking along the riverwalk with her dog Dakota.

Nora Hansen, MD, MPH is a resident in obstetrics and gynecology at Prisma Health-Columbia Campus, South Carolina. She received her undergraduate degree from the Georgia Institute of Technology in industrial engineering, her public health degree from the Rollins School of Public Health at Emory University and obtained her medical degree from Emory University School of Medicine.
Dr. Hansen special interests include advocacy and public health efforts, as well as trauma informed care practices. She enjoys running and hiking with her dogs and partner. She is loving getting to know Columbia and is always looking for new recommendations!
Rebecca Haskell, MD is a resident in Obstetrics/Gynecology at Prisma Health in Columbia, South Carolina. She received her undergraduate degree from Christopher Newport University in Cellular, Molecular, and Physiological Biology with a minor in Psychology and obtained her medical degree from the University of South Carolina School of Medicine- Columbia.
Dr. Haskell’s professional interests include reproductive health advocacy and LGBTQ+ care. In her free time, she enjoys working out, binging true crime series, and keeping up with all things pop culture.
Katherine Kelly, MD is a resident in obstetrics and gynecology at Prisma Health-Columbia Campus, South Carolina. She received her undergraduate degree from University of South Carolina in Exercise Science with a Psychology Minor, and obtained her medical degree from The University of South Carolina School of Medicine- Columbia Campus.
In her free time, Dr. Kelly enjoys spending time outside with her fiancé, Tripp, and golden retriever, Oliver, playing tennis, and drinking spicy margaritas.
Serena Mooney, MD is a resident in Obstetrics/Gynecology at Prisma Health-Columbia, South Carolina. She received her undergraduate degrees from East Carolina University in Public Health Studies and International Studies. She obtained her medical degree from The Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University.
Dr. Mooney’s interests include exploring local coffee shops, trying out new recipes, working on her cross-stitch, and shopping at Soda City Market.
Sahara Peters, DO is a resident in Obstetrics/Gynecology at Prisma Health-Columbia, South Carolina. She received her undergraduate degree from University of South Florida in Biology and obtained her medical degree from Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine- Georgia Campus.
Any moment outside of the hospital, you can find Dr. Peters outside (if the sun is up), or inside working on a project. What kind of project? Anything to keep her busy, home improvement, crafts, party planning, etc. You’re likely to find her with her headphones on and an audiobook on 1.15x speed with her perfect dog at her side. Special medical interests: HPV Vaccination and cervical cancer screening, sex education and minimally invasive surgery.
