Pediatrics General Teaching Faculty

The responsibilities of a general pediatrician have the potential to encompass a wide variety of clinical environments, such as the inpatient ward, outpatient clinic, or newborn nursery, as well as a spectrum of patient ages and concerns, ranging from the well child to one that is medically-complex.  Our general pediatric teaching faculty reflect these roles as many maintain their skills in multiple arenas.  This also mirrors our goal as a residency in building a strong foundation in general pediatrics, affording our residency graduates confidence in the innumerable possible clinical scenarios they will encounter in post-residency life.

Subspecialty Teaching & Affiliated Faculty

Under the mentorship of an ever-expanding team of more than 100 medical and surgical pediatric subspecialists, residents at Prisma Health / USC SOM Greenville receive training that will prepare them for general practice, academic medicine or the fellowship of their choosing. With more than 30 specialties represented, Prisma Health Children’s Hospital offers more comprehensive “whole child” care than many of the country’s major medical centers. With only a single fellowship in the Department of Developmental-Behavioral Pediatrics, our residents gain invaluable clinical experiences through one-on-one teaching with subspecialty attendings while on electives.
