Pediatrics Residency Greenville - Fellowships and Career Paths
Subspecialty Fellowships
All of our residents who have pursued pediatric subspecialty fellowships in the past decade have successfully matched and have consistently matched into competitive programs. Since our program only has fellows in DBP, residents have direct access to clinical experiences, procedural opportunities, and research projects with our more than 100 pediatric subspecialists. After fellowship, many alumni have returned to practice in Greenville and act as additional resources to our graduates in the fellowship application process.
Academic Medicine
Our general pediatric faculty are passionate about teaching and many of our graduates continue this tradition. Several have gone on to take lead roles within Prisma Health, including our Vice-Chair of Quality for Pediatrics, Senior Medical Director of Academics, Pediatric Residency Program Director, and Medical Director for the Center for Pediatric Medicine. Others have joined teaching faculty across the US in outpatient, newborn and inpatient hospitalist roles, including leadership positions within their institutions.
Private Practice
Just over half our graduates choose to join private practices. Several have joined local practices, including one started by former residents. Others return to their home states to join the practices they visited as children in both rural and urban settings. Some strike out across the US and beyond, finding new locations and populations to serve.
