Pediatrics Residency Greenville - Schedule and Rotations

Schedule and Rotations Overview

  • 50:50 Balance of Inpatient and Ambulatory Training
  • Early exposure to NICU, PICU and Pediatrics Subspecialties
  • PTO choices are prioritized for Vacation Flexibility
  • Most electives are outpatient with inpatient/consult time optional based on interest
  • Night float coverage (No Q4 Rotations!) avoids need to cross-cover inpatient while on electives
  • Residency Advising Tracks: At the end of intern year, residents choose one of three advising “tracks” based on career interests. These tracks provide a suggested guideline so residents can truly individualize their educational experience and curriculum to match their career goals in Primary Care, Inpatient Pediatrics, or Pediatric Subspecialties.
  • Career Exploration: In addition to clinical training tracks, residents may choose elective rotations that further prepare them for careers involving Medical Education, Research / Quality Improvement, Advocacy, Global Health, and other interests.
