Preventive Medicine Residency Columbia - Director's Welcome

Thank you for your interest in our program.

We offer an accredited two-year training in general preventive medicine and public health. We are located in the state capital of South Carolina. Our central location presents us with the benefit of being in close proximity to state government offices and public health agencies in addition to large academic, clinical, and research institutions.   

Through our strong partnerships and dedicated faculty, our program is able to provide our residents a with comprehensive curriculum with ample opportunities.  We offers specific emphasis in state level public health, Veterans Affairs lifestyle medicine and rural health opportunities as core rotations.  Additional we offer electives in addiction medicine, occupational medicine, and global health.  Other required rotations include community medicine, disaster response, infectious disease and population health.  Our residents complete their Master of Public Health coursework at the University of South Carolina Arnold School of Public Health.  Tuition is funded by the program.   

We are committed to training residents to become board-certified general preventive medicine and public health practitioners who are equipped to serve as future leaders in various settings within the diverse and rewarding field of preventive medicine.
