Student and Nursing Research Resources

Prior to any IRB submission, all researchers conducting research at Prisma Health for academic credit must complete the student clearance process. Please visit the Research Development page for more information on Researcher Access. Submission to the Prisma Health IRB prior to completing this process will result in withdrawal of your application.

If you are a nurse conducting research at Prisma Health (either as a student or as an employee), it is required that you complete nursing research requirements prior to IRB submission. Please visit Nursing Academics, as well as Student Affairs if your research is part of academic credit requirements. For more information, please reach out to Veronica Deas at Veronica.Deas@prismahealth.org. There are requirements that must be completed prior to submission in IRBNet.

Once you have completed the required student clearance process, you may begin your IRBNet submission. For extensive resources on how to submit within IRBNet, please visit our Resources page.

Some important notes for students:

  • When registering for IRBNet, please affiliate with Prisma Health, Greenville SC*

*This is required regardless of where you are a student. If you do not affiliate correctly, you will not have access to our IRB application and other resources.

  • When uploading required trainings, unless your CITI training has been completed through Prisma Health, you will not be able to link your CITI account via the external accounts option in the User Profile. Please just upload your completion certificate.
  • Please be sure to upload each project item individually in the designer page, not as a bulk “proposal”. Each protocol, consent, survey, etc. should be individually attached in the event changes are required.
  • Please review the various guidance documents to ensure you are requesting appropriate waivers for consent and utilizing appropriate ICF templates. All templates can be found in Forms and Templates within IRBNet.
