What drew me to the program: Prisma offered everything I was looking for in an internal medicine program. Immediately, it felt like home.

What drew me to the program - In my years of education, I've realized that I thrive in a community-focused, family-like environment where collaboration and personal connections are emphasized. Here, that very environment was evident. Everyone within the program seemed eager to know who I am personally so that they can help me reach my full potential. That, in combination with the program being a tertiary referral center (meaning there's no lack of pathological diversity), created a perfect marriage of what I wanted most within a program. Also, one can't forget to mention that Greenville is an absolutely gorgeous city that's close to so many other wonderful locations.

What drew me to the program:  The culture. From the nursing staff, to the janitor to every resident, every single person goes above and beyond to make you feel comfortable and taken care of.  During my month here, every resident got along so well and genuinely enjoyed working with each other which made my experience so much better! I knew in my gut that this program was right for me and so far everything has proven me right.

What drew me to the program: I looked for a program that hosted the resources of a large academic program yet integrated with the community at a level like smaller residency programs. Prisma Health Upstate provides exceptional training across specialties and community-level practice.

What drew me to the program: I hoped to stay in Greenville for residency for many reasons, but it was mostly for the people. Everyone here is so supportive and they all help each other grow as doctors and people. I'm so eager to see what the next three years will hold!

What drew me to the program: Prisma Health has always been my dream hospital to complete residency.  The hospital system is innovative and ever growing.  The IM residency is a solid program with wonderful faculty and residents.  I am honestly so blessed to be here.

What drew me to the program: My family and I were intentional about finding programs in cities where we can see ourselves indefinitely; somewhere that not only I would thrive in my training, but also where my husband and daughter could thrive in their work, school, and activities. Throughout the interview season, we just kept coming back to Prisma Health in Greenville. I attended virtual preview events, meet-and-greets, and an in-person second look. Every single encounter felt the same: the residents genuinely enjoy one another, and they are all genuinely happy in the program. The interview day went so comfortably. I remember Dr. Eicken opening with us all going around to ask each of us something happy that was going on in our lives. It felt very genuine and refreshing, and to start an interview day with something happy allowed any anxiety I had to disappear. To me, programs with good training, high board pass rates, varieties of learning opportunities and experiences, access to procedures, etc. are not difficult to find. It is a program that not only has that, but also a strong culture of support, respect, care, camaraderie, and a positive work environment that make a program stand out to me. Prisma Health Greenville consistently checked all our boxes as a family and my personal training goals. It was a dream come true opening my Match Day email to see that Prisma Health Greenville had chosen me, too.

What drew me to the program: I knew I wanted a program that supported me, not only during challenging times but also in everyday life. During the interview process most programs discussed wellness and its importance, but at Prisma Health, I witnessed wellness in action. The residents were genuinely happy. Prisma Health aligned perfectly with my academic goals of being a medium-sized program that offered ample opportunities for research and fellowship training. Although I had never been to Greenville, SC before my interview, I was drawn to a place known for its beautiful parks, a walkable downtown area, and a wonderful food scene!

What drew me to the program: The positive environment created by Prisma-Greenville (even while on a virtual platform) drew me to the program. It appeared to be a very supportive and happy community. There was an obvious commitment to compassionate patient care and service to the local community. I am very excited for this opportunity to learn and to gain personal and professional growth.

What drew me to the program: I am so blessed to have the opportunity to train at Prisma and live out my dream as a physician. The residency application process is daunting and it's easy to be overwhelmed. My ideal program was closer to the east coast with a culture of kindness and a team that was not afraid of hard work. Prisma along with a few other programs met my initial criteria. But what really set this program apart was the way that the residents interacted with each other and the attendings. The residents were smiling and happy and I couldn't help but to smile with them. To me, it was so important that the countless hours spent at the hospital are with people who make the time fly by... and that's just what I found!

What drew me to the program: I loved that the program was within a large hospital system while maintaining a smaller class size. It was clear from every interaction that all of the residents and faculty were close and supportive of one another and it really drew me in! Additionally I love being in the upstate and the opportunity to continue to care for a community that I’ve come to love.

What drew me to the program: Having grown up in Greenville and experiencing medical school here, I knew without a doubt that this would be a program that feels like home. Not only is the city ever changing, but there is so much to do here and it provides the perfect big city feel while maintaining a small town family atmosphere. As far as residency goes, it was easy to see how much support and happiness was instilled in the program. So happy to extend my home here another 3 years!

What drew me to the program: I had the opportunity to do an away rotation at Prisma Health Greenville during my 4th year of medical school, and I fell in love with the program during that time. I was looking for somewhere that has a strong sense of community, fosters a positive learning environment and values its residents and their wellbeing. Prisma Health checked off all those boxes and then some! I knew it was the place for me when I found myself genuinely excited to show up to the hospital each day. On top of that, Greenville is a wonderful city to live in.
